Driving efficiencies through best-practice UX
The challenge
Recognising the value of good digital experience for their private business customers, Aerospace powerhouse Rolls-Royce appointed AtomicMedia as their chosen UI/UX partner and the voice of the customer to design and deliver a new suite of Business Aviation Customer Portal apps. The nature of the business brand and its customers meant that the new designs and user experience needed to be powerful, considered, evidenced and elite.
The solution
Our approach began with a phase of discovery to define the requirements that the Business Aviation digital products must deliver for both customers and Rolls-Royce internal stakeholders. With a clear understanding established, we then progressed with redesigning Rolls-Royce's suite of Business Aviation web applications, ensuring ongoing user testing of mid-fidelity wireframes, UI designs and final components.
The outcome
The project concluded with the handover of development-ready components and implementation guidelines. This resulted in four new app solutions that successfully delivered an improved UX, elevated UI, and a modern platform for eagerly awaiting private Business Aviation customers.

To ensure a peerless customer experience, reflecting Rolls-Royce’s existing brand identity, we conducted exhaustive user research and a review of existing products. This included experience maps of current products and interviews with subject matter experts in the UK and US.
Best practice UX/UI design, informed by extensive experience
Supported by a tested and evidenced brief, our design process remained user-focused throughout. From mid-fidelity wireframes to the UI components and UI style sheets, all elements were rigorously tested and approved before the process continued.
